Some Sneaky Preferences!

Some Sneaky Preferences!

Every once in a while I go through the preferences window in Pro Tools and see what little check boxes and drop-downs they’ve snuck in.  Here is a new batch that’s made my life easier!  These are all in version 12.3.1 but may have been introduced in earlier versions.

Auto Accept Adjust Bounds

This one is in the “Fades” section of the “Editing” tab.  With this box checked, the “Adjust Bounds” dialogue doesn’t pop up when you try to crossfade over the front of a region.  I’m into this!

Mouse Wheel Scrolling

I thought my vertical scrolling felt different!  This is a great one if you don’t want your window to jump around based on track height.  Disable it and you restore the classic smooth vertical scrolling in the edit window.  It lives in “Misc” Section of the “Operations” tab.

Organize I/O Menu:

If you’re like me and have a bazillion busses, this is a nifty one.  Gives you some options for organizing the insane list of options.  It’s located in the “Basics” section of the “Display” tab.  I’m currently enjoying “Type and Width”
